We want to put ourselves in the shoes of the elderly who will have to live and make compatible the functional health and hospital needs with such important daily events as sunbathing, cool, enjoying distant views and meeting family and friends. The project, convened by the Balearic Islands Govenment, seeks to rehabilitate a very rigid and self-contained building to make it a fluid, open and pleasant place for dependent people.

A rehabilitation proposal is made where the architecture resolves the entry of sun and light through the façade and back gardens, maintaining the original image of the whole of the square of the big central square of Es Castell.

Energy rehabilitation is thought to improve the behavior of the existing skin and take advantage of the fresh air that is produced in the basements, while maximizing the gains of light and sun in the South East.
